AMGA Single Pitch Instructor

Born in a tiny town in Oklahoma, Katelyn lived all over the world before becoming completely enamored with Idaho and making it her home base in 2012.  Endlessly fascinated by all the world has to offer, she attended undergrad at Texas A&M University earning a degree in Animal Science and Business before completely pivoting directions and attending Washington State University earning a Master degree in Sport Management and Education.  Consistently sprinkled throughout her upbringing and education was a constant pursuit of nature and exploring the outdoors, including working for several different outfitters across the west climbing, backpacking, paddling, and horsepacking.  Katelyn is a passionate advocate for inclusivity and equity in outdoor recreation and has served in many leadership positions across several outdoor nonprofits, including SheJumps and Expedition Inspiration.  She is currently on the board of the Wood River Trails Coalition, a trail stewardship organization working to create, maintain and sustain the Wood River Valley trail network for all users.  She works full time as a firefighter for the city of Sun Valley, where she is in paramedic school and serves as a team lead on the backcountry rescue team.  She can always be counted on to say yes to dessert, multi-sport days, book suggestions, and trying new things.  She lives in Bellevue with her partner Riley and their menagerie of funny farm animals that always keep them laughing and on their toes.
