It’s quite apparent looking up at the mountains surrounding Stanley and Sun Valley that there is little snow left in the higher elevations. A light winter combined with the recent heat wave has put us a few weeks ahead of our usual melt cycle, allowing access to alpine basin and passes that would normally be snowed in until mid-July. Perfect timing too, as the mountains have been providing a welcome respite from the valley heat.
