AMGA/IFMGA Mountain Guide

Marc was born and raised in Idaho. He grew up in Sun Valley where with the help of the outdoor program at the Community School (a local private high school). Marc got an early start with adventure sports. He has a penchant for exploring and developing new routes and has first ascents in Japan, Thailand, Australia and of course, Idaho. Marc first started with SMG as an intern in 1993, but did not start guiding in earnest until 1999. In between he graduated with a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, and taught English for two years in Japan. In the fall of 2011 Marc became a fully certified IFMGA Mountain Guide. Since then, he has guided ski trips to Hokkaido, Japan and the Lofoten Islands of Norway. Marc lives in Ketchum with his wife Heidi and when not climbing or skiing, he can be found tinkering on his motorcycle.
