AMGA Apprentice Climbing Guide

Brad’s passion for climbing began in the mountains of Colorado in his youth. At age 16 he made his first big wall climbing trip to Yosemite. He has been rock, ice, alpine and big wall climbing actively since and his history includes many first ascents in areas of Colorado, Idaho, the Canadian Rockies and the Patagonian Andes. Brad spent the 80s working as a professional ski patroller at Monarch, CO gaining extensive experience in avalanche control and patient care. He moved to Idaho in the early 90s where he worked as an EMT while attending college. He got his dream job of climbing ranger for City of Rocks National Reserve in 1995 and later Castle Rocks State Park which opened in 2003. Brad retired as climbing ranger in 2015 and began working with SMG. The City and Castles remain his home where he can often be found climbing with his wife Adrienne and daughter Alex.
