City of Rocks

“The City” is a unique collection of high-quality granite boulders, pinnacles, fins and interesting summits.

Located in Southeast Idaho 3-3.5 hours from Sun Valley/Ketchum, Salt Lake City, and Boise, the City of Rocks is a world class climbing destination. “The City” is a unique collection of  high-quality granite boulders, pinnacles, fins and interesting summits nestled in rolling hills of Juniper and Pinyon Pine. The City offers sport and traditional routes for all climbing levels.

Sawtooth Mountain Guides is one of only two guide services permitted to operate in the City of Rocks, and we specialize in custom trips ranging from fully-catered camping/climbing trips to fun programs for families and kids. We also offer both Introduction to Rock Climbing and Lead Climbing Courses at the City.
