Banner Summit Backcountry Skiing

Banner Summit features some of the most consistent powder conditions in central Idaho.

At the northern end of the Sawtooth Range an hour and half from Sun Valley and 2.5 hours from Boise, Banner Summit’s position catches winter storms providing 350-400″ of annual snowfall. That’s near double what falls in Sun Valley! Consistent storms lead to a snowpack that is often more stable than surrounding areas.

Banner Summit also boasts terrain to match it’s legendary snowfall. Open glades, steep chutes, and mellow meadows provide plenty of variety. Our professional (and fun) ski guides can teach you the fundamentals of backcountry skiing – equipment, risk management, and uphill and downhill techniques. And, of course, they can show you the goods!

Why not experience a winter weekend in Stanley? The quiet, relaxing atmosphere and snow-cloaked Sawtooths provide an unforgettable getaway.
