The South Face of Williams Peak is one of the few summit ski descents adjacent to the Williams Peak Hut – the other summits are simply too rugged. The South Face provides nearly 2000′ of sustained skiing with slope angles exceeding 45 degrees at the top. Due to the southerly exposure, it is a classic corn run when the spring freeze-thaw cycle is in full swing. Climbing it on early morning frozen snow can provide perfect axe and crampon practice.
