What a terrific day I had learning to climb with the knowledgeable and lovely Marc. Everything was smooth sailing- From coordinating the schedule with Stacey just a couple of days prior to my visit, to getting kitted out with my equipment and then getting out on the climb with Marc. He was friendly and professional which made the day a total blast. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Marc chose the perfect spot, which he based on my profile. He obviously took time to consider how to personalize the experience. Thank you for an awesome experience. Highly recommend such a great activity with this group of passionate and consummate professionals — I will definitely be back.
Our family of 4 was traveling for the first time to Stanley from the east coast. We wanted adventure so we signed up for the intro to mtn climbing class. We were matched with Matt S and he was beyond amazing. He was so engaging with the kids (7 and 11) and made us all feel 100% comfortable and safe. I was so scared of the heights but Matt helped we get over my fears with zero pressure. He was so much fun. He took the time to gauge the abilities of my kids and got us to do more than we thought possible. We will be back and will specifically ask for Matt. Anyone looking for backpacking, climbing or skiing treks, ASK FOR MATT S. Overall impressed with the level of communication between us and the company. our confirmation was sent immediately and all forms were easy to fill out via iphones (since we were traveling and no computer). overall 100% success. best decision ever.
I'm a somewhat novice rock climber, and Drew took a friend and I to climb and was really awesome at teaching us and working to make the trip to our level. He was patient, kind, and answered all of our questions with a solid explanation of why he did things the way he did. He left us feeling inspired and wanting to get out more this summer to explore! The other mountain guides I have spoken to are the exact same way. They really know their stuff and are willing to make the trip whatever you want it to be.
Hiked and then spent night in Sawtooth Mtn with guide Amy David. Incredible! She was knowledgable, safe and fun to be with. Worth every penny. I would recommend this company and guide for every age and every level of experience. Beautiful camp site, too!
We came to Stanley on a weekend getaway and wanted to get in some hiking. We assumed we may see some snow, but also would see flowers in bloom. It's spring time right? Well we quickly learned if we were to hike it would be with snowshoes. Not quite what we had in mind, but why not? We contacted Stacey to schedule a hike with a guided tour. Stacey was incredibly helpful with recommendations and she also shared some local hidden gems to discover on our journey from Boise to Stanley.
The day of our hike we woke up to huge snowflakes falling from the sky and we were supposed to start our hike ar 10am, Stacey recommended we push to 1pm in hopes the snow would subside and the visibility would improve. We met Skylar at Galena Pass and as I mentioned before, we were ill prepared for the hike so he hooked us up with some gloves and hiking poles. We hiked up to lower Titus Peak and it was nothing short of spectacular. Skylar was very experienced and we had a great time exchanging stories along the way.
Highly recommend booking a tour. We just wish we had more time in Stanley. Already looking forward to next trip!

These guys are the real deal. We stayed at two different yurts and they coordinated everything expertly. Felt like these guys new this terrain like the back of their hand. Terrain is unbelievable. Guides are fun to hang out with. Might have to just come here every year. Can't say enough good things about these guys. Guides Matt and Skylar were awesome.
Just recently back from a 3 day trip up to SMGs Williams Peak Yurt, my first time there. Wow, what a location!! Pictures do not do it justice. It's a haul to get to it in the winter but worth every stride of the way.
The two yurts were well cared for, clean, and plenty roomy for a group of 8. The ski terrain immediately above the yurts and the surrounding vicinity provides something for all abilities of skiers-- easy glades to jaw dropping, mind blower steeps. And the amount of terrain is as endless as the Sawtooth's themselves. You won't grow bored with the terrain here!
We were self guided so can't speak to the experience and service of their guides but have heard nothing but praise of them from those who have been out with them.
Hope to be fortunate enough to get another reservation here some winter.
Basic avalanche class with Sawtooth Mountain Guides. Three day class that was awesome. Chris,Sara and Drew are guides where both knowledgeable in classroom and on the Mountain. The mix of classroom and mountain time was correct. This is a must take class for those going into the the mountains and back country. GOOD!
I booked a solo climbing trip and had Marc as my guide. The scenery was beautiful, the climb was fun, and the communication with staff was quick and easy. I would definitely do it again!!!
Randall and Chris are great guides and teachers. Very thorough and professional. I will be taking more avalanche courses with sawtooth mountain guides!
