Matt was born and raised a short drive away in Boise, Idaho. His passion for the outdoors began as a youngster with family camping, skiing, hunting and fishing trips around Idaho. Early backpacking trips to the Sawtooth’s instilled his love for the area that eventually blossomed into a love for steep skiing and alpine rock climbing. When he is not high on the Elephants Perch or making powder turns in the Sawtooths, Matt can be found traveling the west seeking out adventures wherever good rock and snow exist. Matt has a business degree from Boise State University and he has also completed his full American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA)/IFMGA Mountain Guide certification.
