Lara grew up in Illinois where she fell in love with the natural world while wandering the woods and waters of the midwest. In 2012, she moved to Missoula, MT where she later earned a BS in Wildlife Biology with a minor in Mountain Studies from the University of Montana. Lara’s work as a wildlife biologist and her appreciation of the mountains inform her trailside talks and skin-track chats. Lara started with SMG in 2018 and continues to work year-round in the Sawtooth Valley as a hiking guide in the summer and as an aspiring avalanche educator in the winter. If you see her on the trail, she’ll most likely be toting a large pack and an even larger smile.
