Multi-Day Backpacking

Incredible loops connect valleys, high passes, and alpine basins with new vistas around every corner.

There’s something simple and pure about backpacking. Carrying only the necessities, you’re able to escape the clutter and complexity of everyday life. Experiencing the Sawtooths on a raw, fundamental level is what it’s all about!

As many veteran hikers know, the Sawtooth Range is made for backpacking. Incredible loops ranging from two days to a week or more connect valleys, high passes, and alpine basins with new vistas around every corner. Each night, fall asleep listening to a burbling creek or seeing the glimmering reflection of the moon on an alpine lake. And as a certified International Dark Sky Reserve, spending a night under the Sawtooth stars is a one-of-a-kind experience!

Let Sawtooth Mountain Guides handle the logistics. All you do is show up, shoulder a pack, and let your guide show you the side of the Sawtooths that few ever see.

And backpacking doesn’t have to mean carrying a heavy load. We also offer a portered backpacking experience for those who prefer carrying a daypack on a multi-day hike! This is also a great option for kids ready to experience the outdoors but groan at the idea of carrying a big backpack.
