Ice Climbing

Looking to extend your climbing season? Try swinging some tools!

Trail Creek

Located to the east of Ketchum, Trail Creek offers good early season access, and a variety of climbs.  Trail Creek contains easy multi-pitch routes, and hard shorter climbs.  The concentration and difficulty range of routes makes this an ideal place to learn ice, or to hone in your skills on something steeper!

Boulder Mountains

The Boulder Mountains are to the North of Ketchum, and provide the backdrop from Galena Pass, or Galena Lodge.  Several flows in this range offer quality moderate to advanced ice.  Wide flows, tall pillars, and multi-pitch dribbles all with exceptional views of the Boulder Alpine.  Some climbing is access via ski touring.

Twin Falls

Twin provides easy access to a number of ice climbs of varying degrees of difficulty. Owing to the lower elevation, Twin Falls ice is in best condition in December and January.
